Born and raised in Fort Worth, Leslie Casey is Director of Community Relations for UNT Health Science Center. She leverages her 19-years of experience in marketing and business development  to connect a broad audience to University innovations in higher education, health research and care.

Beginning at two large hospital systems, Leslie’s career has included public relations, service-line development, events, & communications. She honed her skills at an ad agency helping corporations like Pepsi, Hershey and General Mills with promotional projects. She was re-introduced to healthcare as a manager at Arthur Andersen and co-owner of Sole Graphics and Marketing in Fort Worth.

With a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles, Leslie serves on several community task forces. After being Vice President of the Health Industry Council for almost 5 years, Leslie became one of the founding members of a network based on education, prevention, and active choice, – a movement now known as FitWorth, Healthy City Initiative.

In addition to Chairing Foundation for Wellness, Texas the non-profit home of FitWorth, Leslie is Co-Chair of Fort Worth Safe Communities Coalition.

She serves on boards for the Community Health Collaborative at DFW Hospital Council, It’s Time Texas, FWISD Career & Technical Education, Fort Worth Chamber Quality Workforce Development, is a graduate of Leadership Fort Worth and a founding partner of It Takes a Village Partnership.

Leslie contributed to the UnitedWay of Dallas County’s Charting the Course in Childhood Obesity, and chaired the Community Themes and Strengths Assessment  portion of the MAPP process undertaken by Tarrant County Public Health. Leslie is currently pursuing certification in Lifestyle Medicine at UNTHSC, graduated from Texas Tech University and lives with her husband and two children in North Richland Hills.
